(Object text) Inspired by and for Alex Macedo’s latest work, the installation takes structural elements from amateur and street soccer culture and applies them in the field of furniture. The guiding structures build especially for the gallery take the shape of barriers around smaller soccer fields, bending it and slimming it down. They bring us to the functional bar area, that took the grid of the soccer cages and reshaped it into five benches, three stools and a serving bar. The round cut-out show that it’s possible to break out of pre-given structures, testing the stability of the material. The furniture is only held together by zip-ties.
