🏢 Object Tattoo Parlour, 2024
Table in collaboration with Egor Lovki, Frank Maria & Felix Schwentner

‚Object Tattoo Parlour‘ is not an object, but a technique. Due to ever faster changing trends, furniture and utility objects are replaced more frequently. The old, unwanted products end up in the residual waste, un-disassembled and un-recyclable, as taking them apart and separating them would involve too much effort and the items were not designed for this purpose.Two-dimensional motifs are transferred to the ‚skin‘ of the furniture using the stencil tattoo technique. The technique makes it possible to adapt to three-dimensional shapes and then engrave the stencil. In this case, objects are compared with bodies and thus personalised to increase the emotional connection. Each motif is therefore only tattooed once. The exhibited object is a discarded Austrian ‚Jogltisch‘ that has been converted into an (object) tattoo work table. It is covered with motifs by three (tattoo) artists from Vienna: Egor Lovki, Frank Maria & Felix Schwentner.
